Natural Ventilation Products

Natural ventilation is an essential consideration for all modern buildings. In fact, it is one of the most popular current trends in the construction industry today. The principles of natural ventilation are typically applied by simply opening the windows to let in the fresh air and cool breezes. This type of ventilation uses the natural force of wind and buoyancy to introduce fresh air and distribute it efficiently in a building. This has numerous benefits for the building occupants and even the building itself.

Natural ventilation systems are not suitable in areas with a high level of pollutants, fumes, and odors, i.e. kitchens, laboratories, toilets, etc. However, Natural Ventilation is particularly effective in open spaces that have high occupancies such as open offices, transit centers, and educational facilities. It is also very effective in manufacturing plants, warehouses, distribution centers, assembly areas, and any number of commercial buildings.

Products for Use

There are several products used in commercial and industrial buildings that develop a cooler building with no operating costs or energy consumption.

Apollo – This dual-purpose device provides natural daylight and day-to-day ventilation. It contains flaps which, when open, act as a conduit to exhaust warm air. This helps the building to stay cool. The transparent blades also provide weather protected natural daylight when the flaps are closed. The Apollo has been used for light industrial and heavy commercial applications all over the globe. It’s usually installed at manufacturing plants and other commercial buildings.

Coltlite – The Moffitt Coltlite is a natural louvered ventilator suitable for day-to-day natural ventilation and natural ventilation. This jalousie window ventilator can be utilized for either inlet or extract ventilation. Each unit operates without electrical or operating costs and requires little to no maintenance. It also provides smoke control in the event of the fire, carrying the European certification EN 12101-2 (smoke & heat). All of these functions make it a triple-use ventilator.

Each Coltlite unit can be installed to provide inlet or extract ventilation. It is ideal for commercial and industrial buildings such as hospitals, schools, shopping centers, apartments, warehouses, assembly plants, and commercial buildings.

Firelight – The Moffitt Firelight is a natural casement roof ventilator. It is often used for natural heat & smoke control in the event of a fire. It holds EN 12101-2 (smoke & heat) certification, just like the Coltlite. It has high aerodynamic, acoustic and thermal performance, providing extract ventilation for most kinds of industrial and commercial buildings. It is particularly suited for installation into glazing systems.

Labyrinth – The Labyrinth natural ventilator uses aerodynamically designed perplexes and louvers to provide consistent weatherproof ventilation. It collects rainwater and drains it away through side channels. It is lightweight and low profile reduces the impact of the wind on the roof.

LightStream – This daylighting ventilator can be used for either inlet or exhaust. It mounts low on the walls for air intake or up high to allow for warm air evacuation. It works on rack and pinion operating system, allow for easy opening and closing. It often runs the length of the building letting light, or when open air, to enter along the entire length of the structure.

GreenRoo Turbine Vent – This ventilator spins freely and easily, removing warm air from the building using natural ventilation. Light gauge aluminum is used to ensure that the surface doesn’t corrode even after years of operation.
